Please join us for our Peer Consultation Group: Trauma Clinical Topics on Wednesday June 4 from 5 to 6:30 pm

Peer consultation is a vital part of clinical practice. It provides opportunity for increased self reflection, validation and support through navigating complex clinical situations. Engaging in peer consultation groups has been shown to improve therapeutic effectiveness and greatly reduce the risk of isolation and burn out while increasing connections with a community of practitioners.

PPC Peer Consult Groups are offered to members only. Space is limited to ensure participants can benefit fully. Please see the attendance policy below.

About this group:

Are you working with clients who have significant trauma histories, comorbidities, or trauma-related responses? This discussion group offers a supportive space to explore best practices, enhance your clinical approach, and gain practical strategies for working with trauma-affected individuals—without needing to be a trauma specialist.

In this group, we’ll explore:

  • Identifying Trauma Responses: How to screen for PTSD and recognize trauma-related symptoms.

  • Trauma-Informed Case Conceptualization: Strengthening your diagnostic skills and understanding differential diagnoses.

  • Practical Approaches: Tips for working with trauma survivors, especially those who are not yet ready for or open to direct trauma processing.

  • Skill-Building for Clients: How to integrate bottom-up and top-down regulation techniques.

  • Using Psychoeducation Effectively: Making complex concepts accessible and digestible for clients.

  • Therapeutic Tools Beyond Trauma Processing: Evidence-based strategies that support healing without requiring direct trauma processing work.

  • Navigating Clinical Challenges: Addressing common obstacles like transference, attachment dynamics, boundaries, and avoidance.

  • Best Practices for PTSD Treatment: Familiarizing yourself with gold standard PTSD treatments, key frameworks and risk assessment strategies.

This discussion group is free for participants and designed to provide a collaborative, enriching environment where you can expand your skills and confidence when working with trauma-impacted clients.
